Katie Banfield Registered Osteopath & Naturopath

I qualified in 1994 from The British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London. I decided pursue a career in healthcare for a number of reasons, the qualities needed for Osteopathy & Naturopathy include good powers of observation especially when you consider static and dynamic movement of the body, logic and reasoning for diagnosis and spotting red flags, people skills as a good listener especially for those in pain and for fostering a sense of partnership between Osteopath and Patient. These are things that I greatly value and strive to maintain. The training for Osteopathy is very thorough, extending over 4-5 yrs with clinic experience during half the holidays, it provides a solid medical sciences background and a good appreciation of body biomechanics.

My family background has shaped my interests through a love of healthy home grown food, foraging, nature, yoga and sports especially tennis. I am an experienced and fully registered Osteopath & Naturopath in the Bucks area, that typically includes Winslow and Aylesbury. My aim is to give a quality service to my patients and to keep them informed as to what the treatment plan and aim is.

The tools at my disposal are Classical Osteopathic techniques with nutrition, hydrotherapy, exercises (via video where indicated), ergonomic (especially car and office seats), lifestyle advice, dry needling (some people refer to this as Western Acupuncture), low level laser (light) therapy and kinesio taping which I find invaluable for support, improved  circulation and healing and to release tension with nerve entrapments.

Under the Osteopaths Act 1993 Osteopath is a protected title. Osteopaths come under allied healthcare providers.
