Your Appointment

What to expect at your first appointment

Your initial appointment will last approximately one hour. It begins with a consultation where we'll discuss your case history, focusing on the areas troubling you, identifying potential triggers for your discomfort, and understanding your treatment goals.

Next, a physical examination will be conducted. This may involve assessing your posture while standing, sitting, or walking. You might be asked to remove some outer layers of clothing for this, so please wear comfortable undergarments that you feel at ease in.

We'll then perform orthopaedic tests and palpate the tissues to assess for inflammation, injury, mobility issues, or muscular weakness.

After Your Examination
Once the examination is complete, I'll advise you on whether Osteopathy or Naturopathy is suitable for your condition. If it is, you'll receive a working diagnosis and a prognosis outlining the expected duration of your treatment.

For some patients, I may also recommend additional measures such as podiatry, specific exercise modalities, or a referral to other specialists like an occupational therapist.

Follow-Up Sessions
Subsequent appointments typically last around 30 minutes. During these sessions, you'll receive ongoing advice on how to enhance the effectiveness of your Osteopathic or Naturopathic treatment with self-care practices at home.
